Nine arrested in Bradenton undercover prostitution operation

BRADENTON, Fla. - Bradenton Police Department’s Casual Clothes and Narcotics Unit conducted an undercover Prostitution Operation Thursday throughout the city’s jurisdiction.

The operation targeted individuals attempting to procure the services of an individual for the purpose of prostitution, or for any other lewd act, and resulted in the arrests below:

  • Abel Morales, H/M, 24 years of age, Solicitation of Prostitution – Misdemeanor
  • Agapito Avalos-Hernandez, H/M, 26 years of age, Solicitation of Prostitution - Misdemeanor
  • Sam Wiggins, B/M, 48 years of age, Solicitation of Prostitution - Misdemeanor
  • Hever Mendoza, H/M, 32 years of age, Solicitation of Prostitution - Misdemeanor (Also charged with Driving While License Suspended 3rd Offense- Felony)
  • Tecumsiah Hicks, B/M, 38 years of age, Solicitation of Prostitution - Misdemeanor
  • Carlos N. Mejia-Diaz, H/M, 28 years of age, Solicitation of Prostitution – Misdemeanor (Also charged with No Valid Driver’s License and Child Neglect)
  • Jamie Hill, B/F, 23 years of age, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer – Misdemeanor (Also charged with Obstruction – Misdemeanor)
  • Veronica Rios, H/F, 25 years of age, Obstruction – Misdemeanor (Notice to Appear)
  • Samantha Gardner, W/F, 22 years of age, Obstruction – Misdemeanor

Additionally, a total of two motor vehicles were seized.

“We will continue to conduct these types of operations on a constant basis throughout the city’s jurisdiction, until the criminal(s) realize that these illegal acts will not be tolerated within the City of Bradenton,” said Deputy Chief Warren Merriman
