New police chief announced for Holmes Beach

HOLEMS BEACH - The city of Holmes Beach has a new police chief.

William Tokajer, who was with the Bradenton Police Department for 26 years, has been named the new chief.

He retired from Bradenton in 2011. Most recently, he has been administrative chief of the Longboat Key Police Department.

The Holmes Beach City Commission approved his appointment last week.

No word yet on when his first day will begin.
