PALMETTO - Little leaguers in Palmetto will soon be getting their own new fields to play one.

Manatee County commissioners have approved a 3.3 million dollar plan to build three new baseball fields at Blackstone Park.

Palmetto city leaders signed off on the plan Monday.

It's a dream come true for the city's little league teams, who have been without a permanent place to play ever since their old fields were bought to build a new elementary school.
