BRADENTON, Fla. – Detectives have released the name of a second person of interest in last month’s shooting that sent a Bradenton 4-year-old boy to the hospital.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that they are looking for 21-year-old Davian Evans-Dufrene in connection to the shooting. 20-year-old Horatio Papillion was previously identified as a person of interest shortly after the July 27th shooting.

Later Tuesday, detectives announced they have made contact with Papillion, but no charges have been filed in the case.

That shooting happened at the 2600 block of 36th Avenue West in Bradenton around 11am that Saturday. According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies believe that shots were fired from one vehicle towards another, and one of the rounds happened to enter the home where 4-year-old Davien Martinez.

Davien was struck by a bullet in the head and airlifted to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. He has since been released and has returned home, but his mother says that he has lost vision in his right eye and much of the hearing in his right ear.

They report the boy's spirits remain high.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two subjects should contact MSO at 941-747-3011, ext. 2535 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
