Murder investigation at Bradenton apartment complex

BRADENTON - Bradenton Police are asking for the assistance of any citizen who may have witnessed the fatal shooting at a Bradenton apartment complex.

The shooting happened April 1 around 6:30pm in the parking lot of Sheridan Place Apartment Complex, which is located at 302 26th Avenue.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Carlos Alberto Jurado of Bradenton. Authorities say he is not a resident of the apartments.

Police say Jurado was walking when an unknown suspect or suspects fired a gun, striking Jurado multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial officers advised that there was a large crowd present when law enforcement first arrived at the crime scene.

No further information is available for release at this time, and the Manatee Homicide Investigative Unit is continuing its investigation at this time.
