BRADENTON - The Manatee County Sheriff's detectives say they now have enough evidence connecting Everrick Houston to the 2009 murder of a Bradenton woman and her unborn baby.  Previous charges against Houston were dropped due to inadmissible evidence.

The shooting took place July 12, 2009 at the DeSoto Village Apartments on 5th Street East in Bradenton.  19-year-old Crystal Johnson was pregnant when she was fatally shot.  Her baby was later delivered at All Children's Hospital but didn't survive.

Houston was initially charged with murder in 2009, but charges were later dropped after a judge ruled a piece of evidence was inadmissible.

He was later convicted on federal drug charges and has been in a federal prison since.  He has been transported to Manatee County Jail to face the new murder charges.

Another man involved with the shooting, Gregory Kennon, was convicted on two counts of murder in 2012.
