3 men break into home while victim cooks with door open

PALMETTO - A Palmetto woman is the victim of a home invasion after leaving her front door open while she cooked.

It happened Thursday around 11am on the 2700 block of 6th Avenue East, #C.

39-year-old Mariana Martinez was inside her residence cooking with her front door standing open. The three males entered the home.

One of the males punched her in the face rendering her unconscious.

She was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

She is missing an undetermined amount of money.
