BRADENTON, Fla. - Manatee High assistant football coach Rod Frazier has resigned from the Manatee County School District after facing charges of 1st Degree Misdemeanor Battery, and three counts of Interfering with the Attendance of a Student.

Frazier submitted his resignation to the Manatee County School District this morning. Superintendent Rick Mills accepted the resignation and his employment with the Manatee County School District has been terminated immediately.

"I feel my resignation is in the best interest of all involved," says Frazier in his resignation letter.

The Manatee District will continue its internal investigation into the matter.

Frazier is no longer allowed on Manatee County School Board property.

"I have accepted Mr. Frazier's resignation today in the interest of moving our school district forward," said Superintendent Rick Mills. "We have an obligation to our School Board, community and the Florida Department of Education to conclude our internal investigation and we will proceed on that front."
