MANATEE COUNTY - Manatee County school officials have decided to sell some of the district's vehicles in an effort to help its budget problems.

During a meeting Monday, board members voted to allow the district to sell off dozens of school district vehicles. Most of them are cars used occasionally by district workers.

Superintendent Rick Mills hopes the sale will generate thousands of dollars to put towards the district's Capital Fund.

They hope to sell them in an auction next month.
