Man's body found in Bradenton playground

BRADENTON – Authorities are investigating the murder of a man who was found in a Bradenton playground.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 2:50 am Wednesday Bradenton Police responded to a body in the playground area of Citrus Meadow Apartments located at 1525 21 St. E., Bradenton.

There was trauma to the body and the case is being treated as a homicide.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Damen Gilbert.

The case is being investigated by the Manatee Homicide Investigative Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 941-747-3011, ext. 2224 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
