MANATEE COUNTY, FL-- Both sides of the proposed Long Bar Pointe development project get ready to defend their points.  Manatee county will hold a public hearing on the matter Tuesday Aug 6.

For the project to move forward commissions must change the current land use designation.  But thousands have rallied against the move, saying it will destroy the environment.  Medallion Homes is behind the project and they disagree, saying the development will have limited impact to the environment.  The group says their goal is to build a tourist attraction that will include restaurants, homes, a hotels, and a lot more.

Coming up at 6 we talk those on both sides of the issue.
