Identity released in fatal Bradenton motor scooter crash

BRADENTON - Investigators have released the identity of a Bradenton man killed in a crash Thursday.

It happened just before 2 pm at 26th Street and 29th Avenue West.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Raymond Russ lost control of his scooter, hit a curb, crashed into a street sign and was knocked off the scooter.

He was taken to Blake Medical Center, where he died.

Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet.
