MANATEE COUNTY - A homeless man is facing charges of arson, after police say he set an abandoned home on fire after arguing with his girlfriend.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, on November 20th, 23-year-old Cody Lyons and a woman were inside an abandoned home when the two got into a verbal altercation.

According to the female witness, Lyons said he was going to burn the house down and started the fire. He then fled and the woman called authorities.

Detectives were able to catch up with Lyons recently and they say he confessed.

Lyons is being held in the Manatee County Jail.
