BRADENTON, Fla. - The former “Pink Palace” in downtown Bradenton has received a new look and name. The building will open on November 19 as a Hampton Inn & Suites.

Hampton Inn & Suites is renovating the building but is keeping the building historic charm.

“I think that is a tremendous thing, you know, they are not just busting it down and making something new, but they are building through it and adding to it,” said Jessica Savageau, who hopes to land a job in the historic building.

KellyAnn Dixon is the Sales and Marketing Director for Hampton Inn & Suites and tells ABC 7, it was important for them to keep the historic charm and feel of a building that holds so many memories for Bradenton residents. Dixon says people often stop her on the street to talk about the building.

“It is always a pleasure to stop and listen to what they have to say and the memories that they have or their parents have or they experienced a graduation or a special event in that building.”

The Hampton Inn & Suites will begin accepting reservations on line and over the phone on October 8th. The hotel will open for business November 19th.
