BRADENTON - Two weeks ago, a shootout between people in two cars sent a stray bullet into a home on 36th Avenue West in Bradenton, and into the head of a 4-year-old boy inside.

Now that boy’s mother, Diana Lopez, says she cannot stand the thought of living there anymore.

Her son Davien Martinez will recover, but the shot went through his right eye socket, and he may lose the eye.

On a Facebook page set up for Davien, Lopez posted a plea for help. "We are trying to move out of the house that we rent because of the memories," she writes. "Is there anyone on here that could help us?"

She says she'd like to have a new place by the time she and Davien return home. He continues to recover at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.
