BRADENTON, Fla. - A new restaurant is slated to open in Manatee County next year, but plans for its location have some concerned because of a bald eagle.

Tampa-based PDQ Chicken wants to be open by spring of 2014 at a location on Lena Road off State Road 70 near Interstate 75. But it was discovered an eagles nest is on the property where the restaurant would be built.

Florida Fish and Wildlife has told the company they must have the proper permits in order to build near the eagle nest.

The state says no construction is to be within 100 feet from an eagle’s nest.
