BRADENTON - The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a purse snatching at the Hooters restaurant on 14th Street West in Bradenton Sunday night.

According to sheriff's deputies, two women in their 20's were sitting in the outdoor patio area of the restaurant just after 9pm Sunday night.  That's when they say a man they described as Hispanic grabbed their purses off the railing next to them.

One of the women managed to grab her purse, but the suspect was able to wrestle it away from her and fled.

The suspect fled south on 14th Street West in a red Saturn.  Deputies say numerous witnesses were able to provide leads and a search for the suspect is under way.
