BRADENTON - Sheriff's detectives have developed a person of interest regarding a death in a Bradenton home that they say was a murder.

At approximately midnight on Sunday night, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office was called by the ex-husband of a Bradenton woman.  He says he went to her residence in the 5900 block of 36th Street West in Bradenton to drop off their child.  When no one answered the door, he entered the residence and saw evidence of a crime.

Upon arrival to the scene, deputies discovered the body of 30-year-old Jazmin Catano inside the residence.  She was found in a bedroom with signs of trauma to her body.

Monday afternoon, detectives named Catano's ex-boyfriend, Andres Collazos, as a person of interest in the case.  They have learned that on Sunday, Collazos flew from Ft. Lauderdale to Columbia.

Detectives would like to talk to Collazos, but have not issued an arrest warrant at this time.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011, ext. 2518 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
