Deputies: Palmetto woman stabs male roommate

PALMETTO, FL. - A Palmetto woman has been arrested for stabbing her roommate.

It happened Monday around 10:15 am in an apartment at 212 21st Street West.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported stabbing at the above address. When they arrived, 59-year-old Ernest Belvin was found to have a laceration on his right upper arm and chest from a knife. The suspect, 27-year-old Krizia Gaskin, had fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victim and suspect reside together at the apartment.

Gaskin’s vehicle was located a short time later. She was then located and arrested.

Belvin was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect alleged to have been struck in the head and was also transported to the hospital to be examined.
