BRADENTON, Fla. - Employees of a Bradenton motel came to the aid of their manager Tuesday when a man tried to run off with a bank bag.

It happened at 11:20am at the Motel 6 off State Road 64 near I-75.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, 20-year-old Wayne Johnston was lurking near the motel's office and accosted the General Manager as she left the office carrying a business bank bag.  Johnston reportedly sprayed the woman in the face with mace and then ripped her purse and the bank bag away before fleeing on foot.

That's when several co-workers tackled Johnston and held him down until deputies arrived.

Johnston was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.

The victim suffered a bruise on her face and a few cuts and scratches, but had all the property returned to her.
