Deputies: Man uses large knife to to rob Bradenton bank

BRADENTON, FL. – Authorities have arrested a man who held up a Bradenton bank with a large knife.

It happened Monday around 11 a.m. at the Bank of America located at 3401 Cortez Road.

The suspect, 31-year-old Brenan Fountain, parked directly in front of the bank in a handicapped parking slot. He then went into the bank, showed the tellers a large knife and demanded money. He then fled the scene with a small amount of cash.

A witness who works for the bank’s alarm & security services called the robbery in and began following Fountain. He was stopped around 11:12 a.m. in the 4600 block of 43 Avenue West.

Fountain was arrested at the scene and charged with Armed Bank Robbery. Fountain’s car and weapon were also confiscated and seized, along with an undisclosed amount of money.
