MANATEE COUNTY - A daytime break-in at a Manatee County home Tuesday netted burglars a handgun and thousand of dollars worth of jewelry.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, sometime Tuesday, an unknown suspect or suspects smashed a rear sliding glass door at a home in the 7100 block of 91st Street East, in the Regency Oaks neighborhood off Moccasin Wallow Road.

Stolen from the home was a silver .380 handgun with a black handle, and approximately $25,000-$30,000 worth of jewelry from a jewelry box.

Investigators collected fingerprints from the home and located a cigarette butt from outside the home, which was collected as possible evidence.
