BRADENTON - FPL crews were busy bringing back power to some buildings in Bradenton after a car hit a pole and then a building on Cortez Road West.

It happened around 4:30pm Tuesday in the 10100 block of Cortez Road near the intersection with Valeria Avenue.

The accident brought down power lines and created small spot fires, which were quickly put out. Both directions of Cortez Road were closed for about an hour, but have reopened.

The driver of that car is being treated for minor injuries.
