BRADENTON - A man drove himself to the hospital Saturday night after he say his head was struck by a bullet as he drove past a group of people.

Deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported to the 600 block of 60th Avenue Terrace West around midnight to check out a report of a shooting, but nothing was found.

Shortly after that, officials at Manatee Memorial reported the arrival of a shooting victim to the hospital.

The 19-year-old man told deputies there that he was driving to the store when he passed a group of people in the 1000 block of the same street when someone began shooting at his car.

The victim received a grazing gunshot wound to the left side of the head, and his car had several bullet holes in it.

The investigation continues.
