Bradenton woman woken up and beaten by home invasion suspect

BRADENTON, FL. - A Bradenton woman is recovering after being woken up and beaten by a home invasion suspect.

It happened Saturday around 10pm at the Sunset Village MHP located at 3715 14th Street West Lot 7.

63-year-old Diane Piro was asleep on her bed, when she was awoken by an unknown male standing over her. The male began striking her in the face while demanding she give him her money. The suspect then fled with items belonging to Piro.

Deputies responded and searched the area, but could not locate the suspect.

Piro was injured, but was not hospitalized.

The investigation continues.
