Bradenton woman crashes into pole after avoiding dog in road

MANATEE COUNTY - A Bradenton woman and her two passengers were injured after crashing into a utility pole trying to avoid hitting a dog in the road.

It happened Monday just after 9am at Florida Blvd & California street

48-year-old Samantha Falkner of Bradenton was eastbound on Florida Blvd. approaching California Street.

Falkner told authorities there was a dog in the middle of the road, and she swerved towards the right to avoid it and ended up hitting a concrete utility pole.

After the collision, the pole broke and landed on top of the vehicle.

Falkner and her two passengers only suffered minor injuries.
