BRADENTON, FL. - A Bradenton man was tasered in the buttocks after punching a Manatee County deputy.

It happened Wednesday around 12:30 and on the 6200 block of 14th Street West.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old James Rich of Bradenton was stopped for a bike violation at the above location.

An ID check found that he had a warrant out of California. As the deputies were attempting to make an arrest, Rich broke free from them and punched a deputy in the arm.

Another deputy on scene deployed his electronic control device, striking Rich in the back and buttocks area.

Rich immediately complied without further incident and was taken into custody. He is charged with Battery on a Law Enforcement Office and Resisting Arrest With Violence.
