BRADENTON - Sometimes, pets save us. And other times, they need saving. Take for instance a greyhound named Julia.

According to workers with local greyhound rescue group Gold Coast Greyhounds, Julia disappeared for nearly three days in the Bayshore Gardens area of Bradenton, and despite numerous sightings, no one could seem to catch her.

Then Wednesday, while searching again for her, volunteers with Gold Coast Greyhounds received a call. Julia had somehow swam into bay waters.

Charter boat captain Shawn Crawford spotted her and pulled her into his boat, just minutes before volunteers believe she would have drowned.

We're happy to report that Julia was home safe with her owner Wednesday night.
