MANATEE COUNTY - We're learning more now about some of the 35 men arrested in the latest sting to catch internet child sex predators in Manatee County.
Surveillance video shows some of the 35 men who detectives say tried to set up trysts with minors on line and then show up at a phony address.
One by one, they're surprised at the door, brought inside, hands up against the wall.
The Sheriff says some brought food, one man brought a bathing suit, another man brought a condom--and they came from all walks of life.
Also arrested in this recent sting: 41-year old Phillip Kornell, a teacher at Chamberlain High School in Tampa who was fired immediately.
20-year-old Daniel Konovalchuck, a nursing trainee at Manatee Memorial, and 19-year old Brion Bennett who detectives say is a youth choir leader in Ellenton, were also arrested.
ABC 7 went to learn more about Bennett, who lives across from a park in Parrish. The letter on the door referred us to an attorney in Orlando. We called the number and the laywer had no comment.
Chris Canter, who lives across the street from Bennett, doesn't know him personally but sees a lot of activity around the house. "They're a churchgoing family, they go this church back here. They seem like a good family though, awful big," he said.
We went to the church next door where Bennett is involved with the youth choir. The pastor in charge refused to talk to us on camera and would only say, "I've got nothing to say."
Someone who called herself a friend of Brian also wouldn't talk to us on camera, but did say he was a 'good dude' before speeding off.
