MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Goodwill employee was allegedly targeted by several coworkers in an effort to get him fired while he was on a fundraising trip to benefit veterans. This according to a police report released today by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Christopher Davis, a veteran himself, was employed through Goodwill to help veterans in a hiking trip in the Appalachian Mountains to raise money for veterans.
While on the trip this May, Jessica Baldwin, the current girlfriend of Davis, Yen Reed, ex-girlfriend to Davis and Goodwill's former director of marketing, and Donald E. Hill, also a Goodwill coworker, allegedly collaborated to post inappropriate personal pictures and documents to give him a bad reputation and get him fired.
Reed had a key to Davis's storage unit and entered without permission, as seen on video, and took his personal iPad. Baldwin is seen another day at the unit removing personal documents. Hill is also seen going into the unit and removing personal items.
A few days later, Davis received a call from Goodwill stating that he had been fired and that they stopped the funding for the hiking trip due to the inappropriate items found on his work computer. Davis maintains the items were not on his computer when he left for the trip.
The three suspects also contacted numerous associates in the community and told them personal information about Christopher from the documents stolen from the storage unit.
Baldwin and Hill have been arrested for Burglary of Structure, and Reed has been charged with Grand Theft.
