BRADENTON- A daylong recount is over in Manatee County for County Commissioner District 2.

Tuesday's Democratic primary election ended with a five-vote difference for two of the candidates: Charles Smith and incumbent, Michael Gallen.

After a recount that began at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, election officials declared Smith the winner by four votes.

Smith will face write-in candidate Troy Thomas in the Nov. 4th General Election.
