BRADENTON, FL (WWSB) - A Bradenton man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after a jury convicted him on two counts of sexual battery and kidnapping.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Brandon Williams, 29, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for kidnapping and terrorizing his ex-girlfriend and another woman in Feb. 2017.
Documents related to the case say the two victims were at work when Williams unexpectedly appeared at the business on Cortez Road in Bradenton. Williams expressed anger that his ex-girlfriend was rejecting his efforts to contact her.
That's when Williams forced his way into the business and repeatedly beat his ex and another woman who was there at the time, according to court documents.
Dragging the women from room to room by their hair and ripping their clothes from their bodies, Williams forced the two women to perform oral sex on him while he continued to beat them, the states attorney's office says.
Williams forcibly took both woman's cell phones as well as the business phone to prevent them from calling for help while he held them hostage.
After more beatings, one woman was able to exit the business through the window and run for help.
The lead prosecutors in the case, Assistant state Attorneys Rebecca Muller and Lauren Benson spoke of the women's courage in reporting this case.
"We applaud the courage of these women to report this cruel and vicious attack. Without their fortitude to face this criminal in court, justice could not be served," said Muller and Benson in a joint press release.
