Magaret Good celebrates capturing the District 72 House seat

SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - There were hugs. Cheers and excitement when it was announced Margaret Good had claimed 52 percent of the vote and won her campaign against the Republican Candidate James Buchanan and Libertarian Alison Foxall. Her campaign raised more than 700-thousand dollars, even receiving an endorsement from former Vice-President Joe Biden and Former Maryland Governer Martin O'Malley, but says it was a community effort that push her over the top.

"A whole host of volunteers and supporters that came out that believed in what we were doing. they wanted to see a change in Tallahassee and they got behind it by knocking on doors by making phone calls by making contributions to the campaign and without them i wouldn't be here today."

President of the Florida Young Democrats Jake Sanders saying Good doing her part as well.

"It's that kind of hard work to put someone over the top and good was a great candidate to work with"

Good going on to say affordable health care and protecting the environment being a few of the top issues to to tackle in Tallahassee.

"I'm going to do my very best to represent Sarasota in the most transparent and the most accessible way possible."
