VENICE, Fla. -- An employee at the YMCA youth shelter has been arrested, accused of unlawful sexual activity with minors.

Venice Police arrested 33-year-old Andre Humphrey Thursday.

The arrest was the result of an investigation by a School Resource Officer. The officer noticed a Venice High student getting into a Mercedes with an adult man at the school in the morning. The student did not attend classes at all that day.

The student's mother was contacted and informed police the teen had been staying at the YMCA youth shelter in Sarasota. The student had also made mention to friends of a man that worked there named Andre.

The teen was taken to Venice Bayfront Regional Health. Humphrey was taken to the north county jail.
