BRADENTON, Fla. - A student at Lee Middle School has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery after authorities say he injured two students in art class.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the 13-year-old student attacked two other students in class Monday.  One student was cut on the neck and another student, who tried to intervene, was cut on the hand.

Both victims received medical attention at the school for minor injuries.

Shortly after the incident the attacker ran from the school and was arrested in a nearby parking lot by the school’s resource deputy.

Deputies say it is not clear what prompted the attack.
