Sarah Young, 20, was charged with four more counts of Burglary. These are added on to her previous charges when she was arrested on Sept. 19 for burglaries on Siesta Key.
She was arrested by detectives on Friday. Young is being held on a $6,000 bond.
SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) – A 20-year-old woman was arrested after she admitted to countless vehicle burglaries on Siesta Key and credit card fraud.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office began the investigation on July 17 after a victim had reported his credit card was stolen from his unlocked vehicle in the 4800 block of Higel Avenue.
An online purchase was made with the card only hours after the burglary occurred and delivered to 2375 Tangerine Drive in Sarasota. A female suspect was captured on surveillance video from a nearby home. The video showed the suspect going through vehicles at the victim’s home.
On Aug. 8, a second victim reported his credit card stolen from his vehicle in the 5200 block of Siesta Cove Drive. The card was used to make a purchase that was also delivered to the Tangerine Drive address.
Detectives obtained subscriber information for the internet account associated with the home on Tangerine Drive and identified Sarah Young, 20, of 3616 Teal Avenue, as the suspect.
In addition, Young matched the suspect in the surveillance video.
On Sept. 8, detectives interviewed Young who admitted to countless vehicle burglaries on Siesta Key as well as the fraudulent credit card use.
She was charged with two counts Burglary and two counts of Criminal Use of Personal Identification Information. She was released on $6,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
