World Environment Beach Clean Up 2013

LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. - More than a dozen people took to the beach over the weekend as part of an effort to clean it up and encourage others to protect what we have.

About twenty-four employees and family members of Gold Coast Eagle Distributing spent part of their Saturday on Longboat Key at the Quick Point Nature Preserve, picking up trash, fishing line, bobbers, bottles…anything that threatens the beauty and the ecology of the Suncoast.

It's part of a world-wide event Anheuser-Busch sponsors called World Environment Beach Clean Up. “The Earth is a fragile environment, and if we don’t keep it up, if we don’t do something on a daily basis, in our daily work, then it’s just going to deteriorate even more and more,” said John Saputo of Gold Coast Eagle Distributing.

The people there joined others around the planet doing similar cleanup jobs.

According to Gold Coast Eagle, 34 bags of debris were collected and properly disposed of.
