SARASOTA - Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body that was found at the downtown SCAT bus transfer station on Lemon Avenue.

It happened just before 4am Friday. According to police, a group people who found the woman's body flagged down police to report it.

The bus station was closed off while detectives investigated, but SCAT transportation was not delayed.

It does not appear the woman, who police say appeared to be homeless, died of foul play. Her body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office to determine an exact cause of death.
