LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The first Winterfest in Lakewood Ranch had many in the mood for music on Saturday. Rock legend Marty Balin and a long list of musicians played at the Premier Sports Complex all day Saturday starting at 10am. The festival raised money for two charities while providing local and national musical entertainment. Even Coordinator, Cyndee Voelkins, said “There are so many musicians from this area, not only famous musicians but up and coming artists too!”. Some concert goers loved the charity aspect of the show. Two fans at the concert, Brad and Lynn Schramek, said we love what these guys are doing with foundation to support local musicians, buy sheet music, and have musical training...so its definitely a worth while cause!”. The concert organizers goal is to grow Winterfest into an annual music event that rivals the biggest festivals in the country.
