NORTH PORT, FL - The auction for the 5,700 acres at McCall Ranch Thursday fell short of the $14 million mark. Now some entities may be working behind the scenes to snatch up the property.

Both North Port city leaders and conservation groups are keeping a close eye. The Auction company says they have been contacted by a "half a dozen" interested parties.

Coming up tonight on ABC 7 we will have reaction and concern going forward.
