Water main break damages Clark Road in Sarasota

**UPDATE** All lanes of Clark Road at Honore have been re-opened, following Tuesday's water main break that damaged the road.  The reoad re-opened early Wednesday morning.

SARASOTA - A water main break is causing big problems along Clark Road. It happened around 2pm Tuesday at the intersection with Honore Avenue.

All eastbound traffic on Clark Road is expected to be closed for the next 24 hours and is being rerouted around the area.

County construction crews hit the pipe, causing the break, which left a large hole in the road and caused to asphalt to collapse in some areas.

According to Sarasota County, The pipe carries reclaimed water, and area drinking supplies should not be affected.

ABC 7 has a crew at the scene and will have a live report on ABC 7 News at 5.
