Bradenton bank robber located, taken to hospital for suspected drug overdose

MANATEE CO., Fla. (WWSB) -- UPDATE: Early Friday morning, police arrested Kevin Potts at his residence in Palmetto. He was charged with armed robbery in connection with the robbery of a Wells Fargo bank on Thursday.

He was transported to a hospital for treatment from a suspected drug overdose.


Deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office are looking for a man responsible for a bank robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon.

The robbery took place at the Wells Fargo located at 404 53rd Ave W. in Bradenton around 1:30 p.m.

The suspect, seen in surveillance footage from the interior of the bank, gave a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect implied he was armed.

There were no injuries reported.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10’’, 150 pounds, age 30’s to 40’s and was wearing a red and black hat with the number 14 on the front, a gray long sleeve shirt and black pants.

It is unknown at this time how much money the suspect left with.
