VENICE, Fla. -- The Sarasota Chalk Festival will move south this year to take place in the streets of Venice. And the city's mayor will personally welcome the festival at a special drag queen bingo event.
Mayor John Holic, along with Mike Pachota of Sharky's restaurant and Bob Vedder, are expected to be dressing in drag Wednesday night to help raise fund for the festival.
Mayor Holic got the full salon experience at James Griffith Salon in Venice. He, along with Vedder and Pachoto say it was an experience like they've never had before. All three got the works, fully airbrushed, fake eyelashes, wigs, dresses, and heels. But they all say it's worth it to raise money for the event.
The drag queen bingo fundraiser is scheduled for 6pm Wednesday at the Venice Community Center, and costs $35 for 20 games.
The Sarasota Chalk Festival will run from November 10th through 17th in Venice.
ABC 7's Rebecca Vargas will have more tonight on ABC 7 News.
