The city of Venice will receive more financial help to renourish its beaches.  Federal, state, and city dollars will now help pay for the project.

Nearly $10 million in federal funding has been secured by the Army Corps of Engineers.  The state and city will kick in another $3 million.

The city wants to restore beaches to help provide a critical storm buffer for structures near the beach and shoreline.  Work is expected to begin in late summer.
