SARASOTA, Fla. – The 15th Annual Vegetarian Taste Fest happened Sunday afternoon at the 7th Day Adventist Church. More than 30 one-ounce meatless dishes were on display such as salads, entrees, soups and desserts. The food was also vegan, meaning no products coming from animals (ie. eggs, butter and milk). Publicity Chair of the Vegetarian Fest, Nancy Allen, said “There are other things to eat besides meat, tasty things, and everyone is trying to go plant based now. We're just trying to help our community be healthier and love life more!”. Allan said it's important for people to learn about vegetarian lifestyles because it gives them the potential to be healthier and live longer. All proceeds from Sunday's event went to the All Faiths Food Bank.
