SARASOTA, Fla. -- A semi-truck crash in Sarasota Wednesday was likely caused by a medical issue, investigators say.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 67-year-old Russell Walley of Bradenton was driving a semi-truck north on McIntosh Road just south of Clark Road just before 8am Wednesday.

That's when the truck veered left and entered the grass shoulder, striking a sign and a light pole.

Walley was transported to Doctor's Hospital in Sarasota, where he was pronounced dead.

Family members tell ABC 7 that Walley died from a heart attack.
