BRADENTON, Fla. -- An alleged misuse of county funds could cause more fallout for the Manatee YMCA.  YMCA officials say the school district is now threatening to cancel its contract to run the YMCA's technical high school.

The YMCA opened the school two years ago for at risk youth. It currently serves some 200 students.

YMCA officials told the Bradenton Herald it would be ridiculous for the district to cancel the contract without discussion.

Recently the Manatee County Sheriff's Office launched a criminal investigation into the allegations. More than $100,000 of county money was unaccounted for in an internal audit.

ABC 7’s Bobeth Yates will have more on this story tonight on ABC 7 News.
