VENICE, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for help identifying the driver of a vehicle that injured three pedestrians before driving off this weekend.

The incident happened around 6:40pm Sunday on Cypress Road in South Venice.

According to troopers, two adults and a young child were walking along Cypress Road near Bonita Road when an SUV hit the two adults, knocking all three pedestrians to the road's shoulder.  The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

According to family members of the victims, 18-year-old Victoria Horton suffered serious injures, and the 5-month-old child suffered a possible fractured skull.  The child has been transported to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a white Jeep Cherokee.

Anyone who may have seen the crash or has information about the driver is asked to contact FHP Trooper Bruce Macwhorter at 239-938-1800.
