Trial begins for man who shot and killed man at Osprey tiki bar

OSPREY, FL- Jury selection is underway for the South Carolina man that shot and killed another man at a crowded Tiki bar in Osprey.

It happened at Bentley's Hotel back on Memorial Day 2012.  Reportedly surviellence video captured the shooting on camera.  The suspect, Michael Rice, was having a conversation at the bar with 46-year-old Phillippe Nahon when he allegedly pulled out a semi automatic gun and shot Nahon in the head.

The Sun Herald is reporting that Rice's attorney has indicated he plans to use the insanity defense.  Rice allegedly suffers from bipolar disorder.  Opening statements are expected to begin later today after a jury is seated.
