MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- People living in a Lakewood Ranch neighborhood say wild hogs are wreaking havoc in their community.

The pesky pigs are tearing through lawns and gardens looking for food.

To help fix the problem, the district brought in a trapper to remove the unwanted swine. According to published reports, the Sarasota-based trapper has caught about 16 hogs since March. He then takes the captured hogs home, fattens them up and sells them.

The trapper says much of the mess is coming from the baby hogs that are attracted to yards with new sod.

The district plans to keep the trapper until the problem is fixed.

No, their not wreaking havoc on your community, YOUR wreaking havoc on their community. They have been around long before Lakewood Ranch was even a thought.[wink]
